Job details
Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Pharmacy or drugstore. Tasks: Advise customers on indications, contraindications, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage. Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or to other health care professionals. Check prescriptions for proper dosage. Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients. Maintain medication profiles of customers including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs. Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians and other staff. Control the quality of drug products during production to ensure that they meet standards of potency, purity, uniformity, stability and safety. Evaluate labelling, packaging and advertising of drug products. Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages. Provide customer service. Enter data according to specified format. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic mail. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Sitting.
