Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Courier company. Remote location. Various locations. Tasks: Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand. Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products. Accept payment or invoices for items delivered. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Assemble, install and set-up merchandise/products. Keep a record of items received and delivered. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Accept and deliver messages and packages for events, conferences or assemblies. Load and unload goods. Sort packages for delivery. Follow directions and read map. Provide customer service. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Air Brakes Endorsement. Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles). First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Transportation/travel experience: Provincial/territorial. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
