*Job Description*
Ampersand is an industry leading Printing & Marketing Execution company serving Medium to Large Businesses and Advertising Agencies in the Southwestern Ontario Market. We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our team in the full-time role of Bookkeeper. This role requires impeccable communication, customer relations and organizational skills, has a pleasant outgoing personality and enjoys working in a small office environment.
*Responsibilities:*
· Works within our Pace MIS & Quickbooks Accounting Package to:
o Review job costing and flag inconsistencies for review by management.
o Generate invoices.
o Maintains accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
o Balances accounts by reconciling entries.
o Maintains general ledger by transferring account summaries.
o Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
o Prepares month end and year end statements.
o Prepares year end data for external accounting firm.
o Maintains historical records by filing documents.
o Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
o Works with our accounting firm to ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
· Administration of payroll using 3rd party service (Ceridian)
· Administration of our group benefit plan.
· Administration of employee vacations
· Collect receivables
· Deposit funds
· Pay Taxes
· Communicate professionally in all verbal and written communication to internal departments and external contacts
Desired Skills & Experience
* Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience required.
* Payroll & Benefits experience required.
* Strong experience in Quickbooks required.
* Post-Secondary Education in Accounting,
* Very Strong Organizational Skills
* Very Detailed Oriented
* Easily adapt to changing job tasks as needed
* PC, business software and internet use with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
* Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision and to self-manage work time and priorities
* Fluent in English with clear enunciation, ability to read and write business English
*Reports to: *HR & Finance Manager
