*NATURE & SCOPE*
Working as part of the Association Services Team, and under the general guidance of the HR Manager, the role of the HR Assistant is to support the Association (YMCA Niagara) in addressing and responding to the daily requests from staff while meeting various compliance obligations. This position is expected to be working in-person, on-site, and occasionally throughout YMCA program/office locations. Access to vehicle is needed to perform job duties.
*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
·Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources Department.
·Support the Department/Association Policy implementation using version control.
-Support recruitment throughout the Association; preparing job postings, assist with group interviews; do reference checks; attend job fairs.
-Point of Contact for Employees needing UKG/HR support.
-Investigate and solve problems around HR issues and documentation; identify opportunities for process improvements.
-Support the maintenance of content of the staff intranet site.
-Arrange logistics and assist in the coordination staff training events and recognition events.
-Support to association Health and Safety Programs.
-Provide support and assist the department with full cycle employee support including offer letters, onboarding, process new hires, job descriptions, surveys, support, tracking training events, and offboarding.
-Participate in the design, delivery and implementation of HR initiatives, programs, and processes.
-Produce regular reports to support operations through critical data tracking and analysis.
-Other duties as assigned.
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
-Administrative and/or training experience as asset.
-Post-secondary diploma/degree or currently in school for Human Resources, or a related field is an asset.
-CHRP (or in process) is an asset.
-Proven problem-solving skills.
-Excellent verbal and written skills.
-Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
-HRIS experience preferred.
-Upon hiring, applicants 18 years of age and older must submit a clear and satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) issued for the YMCA of Niagara.
-Emergency First Aid ? CPR B or above.
