*Job Summary:*
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in both estimating large-scale commercial plumbing and HVAC projects and driving business development initiatives. This dual-role position requires an individual with technical expertise in estimating project costs, materials, and timelines, as well as a strategic mindset to identify new business opportunities, build relationships, and increase market presence.
*Key Responsibilities:*
Estimating:
* Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial plumbing and HVAC projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
* Review project specifications, blueprints, and other documents to ensure comprehensive understanding of project scope.
* Collaborate with project managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to refine project requirements and estimates.
* Conduct site visits and pre-bid meetings to gather project-specific details.
* Manage the bid process, including submission of proposals, negotiating terms, and following up on bids.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, material costs, and advancements in plumbing and HVAC technologies to ensure competitive pricing.
Business Development:
* Develop and implement strategies to grow the company's portfolio of commercial plumbing and HVAC projects.
* Identify new business opportunities through networking, industry events, referrals, and bidding marketplace tools.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, architects, developers, property managers, and other key stakeholders.
* Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance brand awareness and visibility within the commercial plumbing and HVAC sectors.
* Prepare and present business development reports to senior leadership, tracking progress, opportunities, and market trends.
* Negotiate contracts and secure new business deals, ensuring alignment with company objectives and profitability goals.
*Qualifications:*
* Minimum of 3+ years of experience in estimating commercial plumbing and HVAC projects.
* Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the construction or mechanical contracting industry.
* Strong knowledge of plumbing and HVAC systems, materials, labour costs, and industry regulations.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and long-term relationships.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred but not required).
