Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Furniture repair shop. Tasks: Make minor adjustments and repairs to furniture. Prepare, sand and trim wooden furniture and fixture parts. Read blueprints and drawings. Stain or finish wood to specified colour. Apply toners, highlights, glazes or shaders to obtain desired finish. Apply lacquer or other sealers. Install hardware on furniture and fixtures. Decorate wood surfaces. Inspect furniture and fixture subassemblies and finished products for conformance to quality standards. Clean, polish and wax furniture. Strip old finish from wood surface. Smooth gouges with wood filler and sand wood. Make minor repairs to furniture. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). More than 45 kg (100 lbs). Screening questions: Are you available for shift or on-call work?. Are you available for the advertised start date?. Do you have previous experience in this field of employment?.
