Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Relocation costs covered by employer. Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Tasks: Explain procedures. Operate X-ray, radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment. Operate computerized tomography (CT) scanners. Perform scheduled maintenance and minor repairs on equipment. Position patients. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals materials to patients or to biological samples. Train technicians, assistants, students or interns. Wear radiation detection equipment to acquire data for use by nuclear medicine physicians in the diagnosis of disease. Record and process results of procedures. Explain procedures and side effects of radiation. Perform basic verification and quality control checks on radiographic and film processing equipment. Record and process patient data. Provide appropriate care and monitoring of the patient during the examination. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certification by a provincial or territorial association. Security and safety: Immunization records. Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
