We are searching for a permanent part-time (0.8 FTE) Restorative Assistant to join our Bridgeview Hall team based in Miramichi, New Brunswick. Additional benefits include: Approximate hourly wage: $22.85 - 24.61 Comprehensive health, vision, and dental benefits plan including an Employee and Family Assistance Program Life, travel, and other insurances Access to virtual healthcare 24/7 for FREE through the group health benefit plan Pension plan Vacation accrual (begins immediately) and travel insurance Free onsite parking Access to thousands of perks vendors and discounts through our WorkPerks program, including excellent discounts for apparel, restaurants, technology, fitness, travel, and tickets to some of your favorite sports and entertainment events Access to continuing education and training through Shannex's Centre of Excellence Opportunities to be part of sector innovation and continuous improvement initiatives Recognition and Rewards for service excellence and safetyAbout the Opportunity Prepares and administer individual and group physical therapy; Administers and assists residents with therapeutic intervention programs as developed by the PT and OT, such as range of motion, progressive resistive and stretching, ADLs; Assists residents in ambulation, with or without an ambulatory aid, under the direction of the Physiotherapist; Documents according to policy and procedures (e.g Daily Resident Care Record, resident progress notes, incident reporting, PPCA, Critical Incidents etc.); Observes and monitors residents' response during treatment and responds accordingly to ensure safety; note conditions and progress for reporting to PT/OT; Maintains equipment inventory and assists with department audits, cleaning and inspections.About You In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring: A Restorative Assistant Diploma from an approved college or you have a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology or applicable education in the health sciences field. If you are currently enrolled in these programs, your application will be considered; Current First Aid & CPR or BLS Certificate (required); Ability to provide a clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check upon hire; Advanced proficiency in the English language is required, proficiency in French considered an asset; U-First training or a Dementia Care Course would be considered an asset; A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.About Us It all began in 1988 when our Founder, Joseph Shannon, purchased a single nursing home in his hometown of Sydney, Cape Breton.
