Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Pipefitting/pipefitter and sprinkler fitter. Plumbing technology/plumber. Plumbing and related water supply services, other. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Wet/damp. Work setting: Various locations. Commercial. Industrial. Institutional. Construction site. Swimming pool maintenance service company. Tasks: Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems. Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors. Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing. Estimate costs and materials. Adjust equipment, valves, pumps and controls and process equipment. Install supports, valves, piping and control systems. Supervision: Swimming pool installers. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Plumber Trade Certification. First Aid Certificate. Plumber Red Seal Certificate. Gas Fitter Red Seal Certificate. Type of product: Swimming pools/equipment. Equipment and machinery experience: Pumps. Specialization or experience: Industrial plant piping. Area of specialization: Water heaters. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?.
