SPECIAL EDUCATION ASSISTANT - FULL-TIME (Aug.28, 2024-June 17, 2025)<p>At Campbell River Christian School, Special Education Assistants are para-professionals who work closely with teachers to support the educational/academic, spiritual, and character development of students on Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs), some of whom receive government funding to support their programming. SEAs receive their assignments from the Special Education Director and directly report to the classroom teacher with whom they are working.<p>Presently, CRCS has an immediate full-time SEA position available for the 2024-2025 school year. The hours are 8am-3pm, Monday to Friday. Remuneration is on a grid system based on training, qualifications, and experience.<p>The ideal SEA?s skills and duties include but are not limited to the following:<p>- Evidence of a strong understanding of Christian education<p>- Willingness to uphold CRCS's and ACSI's (Assoc. of Christian Schools International) Statements of Faith<p>- Possession of an Educational Assistant certificate or in the process of obtaining one. (Candidates without an Educational Assistant certificate must be willing to enroll in an educational assistant training course.)<p>- Strong communication skills <p>- Ability to work effectively in a team environment<p>- Adaptable, flexible, with a "can-do" attitude<p>- Ability to meet and plan with the classroom teacher(s) on a regular basis<p>- Ability to implement tasks and oversee instructional practices programmed by the designated teacher(s)<p>- Prepared to supporting student(s) and regularly communicate with the classroom teacher(s) and SPED Director<p>- Willingness to pray regularly for students and their families and participate in staff prayer meetings<p>- Ability of reinforcing or following up on assignments with the student(s)<p>- Ability to keep accurate student records<p>- Ability to attend Staff, SPED, or Parent meetings as required<p>- Willing to undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the SPED Director or Vice-Principal or Principal<p> <p>Interested candidates are invited to send a cover letter, résumé, their personal testimony and understanding of Christian faith, evidence of any certification or special training, and 3 references including a pastoral/church reference to Bérénice MacKenzie at principal@crcs.bc.ca.
