Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Relocation costs covered by employer. Tasks: Load, unload and transport construction materials. Operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials. Clean and lubricate cranes. Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades. Operate pile driving cranes to drive pilings into earth to provide support for buildings and other structures. Instruct apprentices. Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. Operate cranes equipped with dredging attachments to dredge waterways and other areas. Assemble tower cranes on site. Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites. Level earth to fine grade specifications. Pave and rake asphalt. Clean and pile salvaged materials. Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Tight deadlines. Manual dexterity. Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Personal suitability: Accurate. Client focus.
