Aggregate data will be stored anonymously to support improvements to the Board?s hiring processes.<p> <p>General Description of Duties: <p> <p>Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will provide painting and finish restoration services in WCDSB buildings and complete the following duties:<p> <p><p> Apply primer, base coat and finish coat of finishing products;<p> Repair and Prepare surfaces for Product Application;<p> Ensure adequate supplies are ordered for specific jobs as well as give estimates on prices and timelines;<p> Remove furniture and prepare area for painting by placing drop sheets, setting up scaffolding, fixing holes, sanding, and priming;<p> Ensure painted area is in its original state after painting;<p> prepare documentation for the transportation of dangerous goods;<p> Clean painting equipment and drop sheets, remove paint spatter and over painting areas, remove scaffolding and ladders;<p> Remove graffiti from non porous materials and surfaces by painting over or using a removal product, abiding by the Board, guidelines;<p> Repair and refurbish wood furniture and equipment by sanding, painting, and varnishing;<p> Driving Is Required To Various Work Sites ;<p> Other duties as assigned;<p> <p> M inimum Requirements: <p> <p> <p> High School Diploma or equivalent<p> One to five years work experience as a painter<p> Operation of mixer, power drills and other tools of the trade<p> Hold a valid class G drivers license with a safe driving record.<p> Must be self-motivated, safety conscious, have excellent interpersonal and strong organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment with minimum supervision.<p> Must have working knowledge of W.H.M.I.S. system and safe handling of hazardous materials.<p> Basic Computer skills required.<p> Painter and Decorators certificate of qualification is an asset<p><p> <p>Salary Range: $27.25 per hour plus afternoon shift premium in accordance with the UNIFOR Collective Agreement. In addition, full benefit package and OMERS Pension Plan<p> <p>Hours of Work : Permanent full time: 40 hours per week / 52 weeks per year (Afternoon Shift: 3:15 PM to 11:15 PM)<p> <p>Qualified applicants are invited to submit a resume.
