Successful candidates are expected to: understand the importance of supporting a welcoming environment;<p> present a positive attitude towards inclusion and diversity;<p> identify opportunities to support inclusion and diversity; and,<p> take meaningful action. <p>Start Date: As soon as possible Education, Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Strong interpersonal and relationship skills, and an ability to work in a team environment<p> Grade 12 diploma <p> Training and experience in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Control Theory, First Aid, and Security is an asset<p> Ability and experience working with students<p> A positive and flexible attitude <p> Able to do heavy work (exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects and assist students as needed)<p> A valid drivers license is an asset<p> Ability to use technology is an asset <p>Duties (may include but are not limited to): Work at the school, under the direction of the school-based administrators, to help provide for the care, welfare, safety and security of students and staff at the Comprehensive High School. <p> Supervise students in the classroom, lunch or rest area. <p> Engage only in activities in which they have training, experience or are qualified to do unless they are directed to do otherwise by an immediate supervisor.<p> Develop positive relationships with the students and model respectful behaviour towards them so that in the event of a crisis situation they are able to de-escalate the situation. <p> Discuss school problems and confidential matters only with the appropriate personnel.<p> Respect the dignity, privacy, and individuality of all students, parents, and staff members.<p> School van preparations and inspections <p>Benefits: Defined Benefit Pension Plan<p> Employee benefit plan<p> Positive work environment<p> Pay range: $19.25 to $25.73 per hour based on experience <p>Applications must be submitted prior to 3:00 pm on October 17, 2024.<p>For more information about this position, please contact Kelsey Tsougrianis, Principal, at 1-306-773-2801.
