The City of Delta is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team and share in our commitment to lead the way in public service excellence.City of DeltaFacilities ManagerThe City of Delta is seeking a dynamic leader for the role of Facilities Manager. The Facilities Manager lead a team of 60 full time and 80 part/time auxiliary staff and is responsible for the day to day building maintenance and services for the City?s facilities, including recreation centers, civic buildings, and other facilities. Reporting to the Director, Facilities & Major Projects, the Facilities Manager will develop and oversee planning, maintenance, operation and safety/security programs and services for City facilities and properties, ensuring compliance with custodial, building maintenance, and regulatory requirements and standards. The position will also be responsible for managing monitor an operational budget of approximately $10 million, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial guidelines, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high standards of facility care.Some additional responsibilities include:Ensures standards and controls are developed related to operational efficiency, compliance, risk mitigation and achievement of functional results Mentoring and developing staff Negotiating and managing contracts for outsourced maintenance services ensuring service agreement levels are achieved Oversee the planning and execution of minor projects, ensuring the timely completion and within budget. Implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule for all city facilities, including recreation centers, police civic buildings, and heritage sites.Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesStrong background in project management, preventive maintenance, and capital project planning Considerable experience in preparing and managing operating and capital budgets Developing and implementing technical work programs, projects and operational work procedures Oversees minor building projects, renovations, or refurbishments Effectively written and verbal communication through development of reports and other written materials, and presentations Demonstrating good work knowledge of Operational, Asset and MS Office programs Ability to interpret requirements, problem-solve, plan and develop courses of action at a strategic level Experience in change management and facilitation is an assetRequired QualificationsBachelor?s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field Certification in Project Management, Energy Management, or a related discipline is preferred Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in a municipal or public sector environment A valid Class 5 BC Driver?s Licence.The City of Delta provides a competitive annual salary of $124,691 - $148,697 (commensurate with experience); and an excellent benefits package including Municipal Pension Plan as well as an earned-days-off system.
