Education: College/CEGEP. Tasks: Read blueprints to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements. Assist in developing engineering specifications and drawings. Participate in field surveys, inspections or technical investigations. Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates. Prepare project schedules. Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, technical investigations and testing of construction materials. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Certification by a provincial or territorial association. Computer and technology knowledge: Geographic Information System (GIS). AutoCAD. MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS PowerPoint. MS Word. Civil engineering experience: Waste handling sites. Drainage and irrigation system. Sewers and sewage treatment facilities. Water control system and structures. Area of specialization: Water resources. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Tight deadlines.
