Human Resources Coordinator
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Coordinator provides daily administrative support to the
Human Resources, Accounting and Executive offices. This position is responsible for assisting and coordinating activities related to the human resources departments. This role supports the benefits administration and will act as back-up payroll processor when needed.
Job Duties
* Responsible for the full employee cycle from recruitment to departure.
* Participate in the recruiting process, including advertising and collaborating with community agencies.
* Quarterly and periodic reporting to the Union.
* Plan, coordinate, and execute employee activities and events, such as staff training, seasonal and farewell parties, and community services.
* Administer employee recognition programs (e.g., Employee of the Month, Employee Birthdays).
* Administer leave programs in coordination with the Disability Management Company.
* Assist in employee communication, including internal job vacancies, and newsletters.
* Maintain employee total compensation packages (e.g., Group Health and RRSP enrolment).
* Upkeep the HRIS system and the online policy system (ADP Workforce Now).
* Provide payroll administration, onboarding, and offboarding of employees in various systems.
* Assist with accounts payable tasks and collaborate with the accounting department on year-end reviews and audits.
* Complete administrative and clerical assignments such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures.
* Monthly Reporting on Financial, Employee and Guest Satisfaction goals.
* Preparation of letters & memos, reports, and spreadsheets, and database or presentation software.
* Able to research and locate cost-effective travel arrangements, co-ordinate and book travel and accommodation.
* Manage all requirements in the set-up and execution of meetings
* Prepare and maintain expense reports, obtaining CEO approval for all expense claims and processing payment;
* Demonstrates attention to detail and effective decision-making skills to respond to high-pressure situations; use logic and skill to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems;
* Demonstrated accountability by planning ahead, managing time well, being on time, being cost conscious, thinking of better ways of doing things, demonstrates ability to follow instructions, maintains appropriate appearance, complies with organizational policies and procedures, and has a willingness to learn;
* Demonstrates exemplary performance and the highest degree of professionalism through the ability to work as part of a team by being helpful, respectful, approachable and team oriented, building strong working relationships and a positive work environment, is responsible, honest, loyal, interacts with others tactfully, resolves conflicts appropriately, and adapts to change.
Requirements
* Must have completed high school education or equivalent.
* Post-secondary education preferred.
* Experience in human resources preferred; experience in a hotel or resort workplace is an asset.
* Experience with Payroll or HR Management software (e.g. Netsuite, ADP, Synerion) is an asset.
* Experience administering group benefit plans is an asset.
* Will consider a combination of relevant industry experience and education in a related field.
Education and Experience Requirements
