Job details
We are looking for an experienced Industrial Painter who will be responsible for our paint department. The individual should be capable of operating and maintaining equipment necessary to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion or otherwise prepare items for the application of paint, lacquer or other protective or decorative coatings. Must be able to precision coat to specified thicknesses determined by individual part specification.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Perform any start-up tasks required in the painting area at beginning of shift.
* Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment.
* Ensure adequate inventory and proper storage of paint in stock.
* Verify paints/chemicals for expiry dates, if out of date notify supervisor and/or Quality Department.
* Select appropriate paint and/or mix paints using paint mixing equipment according to a predetermined formula or manufactures technical data sheet.
* Issue a label for solutions that are mixed by you if the solution is going to be stored.
* Inspect parts prior to painting and verifying order quantities (where applicable).
* Prepare parts for paint, including but not limited to cleaning, abrasive blasting, masking and racking.
* Follow all processing and inspection instructions pertaining to activities performed in processing customer orders.
* Precision coat both large and small parts of various configurations and be able to apply touch-ups using paint brushes.
* Ensure parts are inspected per customer requirements and/or sampling plan.
* Complete all required production and inspection records.
* Report all processing nonconformities, deficiencies, and problems to the Production Supervisor and/or Quality Assurance.
* Follow all safety rules when handling chemicals and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
* Keep work station area clean and organized.
Some heavy lifting is required.
Qualifications Include:
* Experience in using spray paint and other coating application equipment.
* Experience in operating hand-held spray guns to spray paint or coat stationary items or items on moving conveyor system with protective or decorative coatings.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.
* Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
* Ability to inspect work for imperfections and ensure compliance to specified requirements.
* Must be able to pass a security background check.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
