City Center Maintenance & Janitorial, a top-leading full-service provider of technical maintenance, managerial, and janitorial services in the Windsor ? Essex County area, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team.
This role focuses on overseeing a team of janitorial employees working within a major manufacturing plant in the EV battery industry, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, recruitment, and compliance with health and safety, and employment policies.
*Summary of Role:*
The Human Resources Generalist will manage human resources functions and administrative tasks for medium size, growing team of janitorial employees who are responsible for maintaining a major EV manufacturing facility in the Windsor-Essex region.
The position leads full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, employee training, and manage health and safety protocols. Additionally, the position will handle disability management (including WSIB and Return to Work cases), benefits administration, and ensure compliance with Ontario Workers? Legislation and company policies.
*Key Responsibilities:*
· Manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and orientation for janitorial employees
· Coordinate and lead employee training and development specific to the manufacturing environment
· Oversee daily scheduling and workforce management for janitorial teams
· Act as a point of contact for employees regarding workplace issues, concerns, or grievances
· Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols and maintain adherence to Ontario Workers? Legislation
· Administer employee benefits and manage disability/WSIB claims and Return to Work programs
· Develop, implement, and enforce company policies and safety standards
· Act as a liaison between plant management and janitorial staff to maintain operational efficiency
· Provide administrative support as needed to both office and plant operations
· Other duties as assigned
*Qualifications and Skills:*
· Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience
· 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources, Office Management, or a related role
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Strong knowledge of Ontario Workers? Legislation and Health and Safety regulations
· Experience working with janitorial or maintenance teams is considered an asset
· Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is considered a strong asset
· Valid Driver?s License
