*Job Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting the dental team in various procedures. This position requires a proactive individual who is committed to maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment while ensuring patient comfort.
*Duties*
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials according to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Ability to take X-rays.
- Take and record vital signs of patients prior to procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic.
- Provide education to patients regarding oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
- Perform basic dental procedures under the supervision of a dentist, including taking impressions for prosthodontics.
- Ensure all equipment is properly sterilized and maintained in accordance with infection control standards.
- Assist with medical coding for insurance purposes as needed.
*Skills*
- Proficiency in prosthodontics and familiarity with four-handed dentistry practices.
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control measures.
- Ability to accurately take vital signs and document them appropriately.
- Knowledge of medical documentation practices, including HIPAA compliance.
- Familiarity with medical coding processes is a plus.
- Solid understanding of dental anatomy to assist effectively during procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and the dental team effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records and office tasks.
