Convoy Technologies, a top supplier of cameras, displays and sensor systems, is committed to the safety of those who work in and around commercial vehicles. We are currently seeking a *Production Manager* to lead product production and promote a culture that truly values its employees at our new facility being launched in Tecumseh, Ontario.
The *Production Manager* oversees daily product assembly operations with the goal of meeting productivity, safety and quality objectives, increasing efficiencies, and minimizing downtime and waste.
*Responsibilities*
* Ensure production staff work in accordance with all health and safety parameters
* Lead development of business processes, value streams and procedures related to daily production of products, housekeeping and maintenance
* Work collaboratively to build NetSuite ERP modules associated with parts assembly, lot traceability and process documentation
* Lead daily production meetings to ensure goals and objectives are communicated, problems are identified and KPIs are met
* Lead and support production staff ensuring compliance with policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, cleanliness, ESD and production standard operating procedures
* Provide training and development to production staff
* Coordinate production schedules with Materials Supervisor to meet sales requirements
* Coordinate optimal manpower levels and scheduling to meet production requirements
* Oversee daily production of finished goods
* Monitor and ensure production equipment, machinery, and production area is safe, clean and operational
* Identify and contribute to resolving production concerns related to process defects, equipment failures, downtime, scrap and other related production delays
* Develop and promote proactive problem-solving activities within department
* Lead continuous improvement activities utilizing lean tools and methodologies to improve operation, achieve business plan objectives and improve customer value
* Continually monitor production systems and work towards enhancements, including but not limited to cost reductions, labour effectiveness and inventory control
* Perform administrative duties related to managing production staff
* Coordinate with other departments to optimize efficient flow of components and goods
* Report on production outcomes to management team
* Attend and contribute to managerial and production meetings and other meetings
*Requirements*
* Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering or relevant education
* 5 years? production experience in a low volume, high mix, product assembly environment
* Experience working in controlled environments for cleanliness and small electronics components including PCB handling or ESD environments an asset
* Excellent leadership competencies with demonstrated experience leading production team
* Experience with process development, capital equipment procurement and product launch
* Strong working knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, ISO 9001, Continuous Improvement, standard work and value stream mapping
* Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Exceptional interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with limited supervision
