People like you!This position involves working with seniors and volunteers in an empathetic manner, dealing with client referrals and intake and moderately complex clerical and typing work in the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department. The work of the Clerk Typist 3 may involve some initiative in planning the sequence of duties and the work methods to be employed. The Clerk Typist 3 will ordinarily have some responsibility for finality of action on repeat assignments, but difficult or unusual problems are referred to a supervisor. Detailed oral and written instructions on initial and new assignments are received from a supervisor who checks the work for accuracy and completeness. The incumbent develops, revises and/or implements work methods, forms and procedures; explains and interprets moderately complex departmental rules, regulations and procedures to public enquiries. Performs related work as required.Qualifications include up to high school graduation including or supplemented by typing, word processing and commercial subjects and considerable experience as a Clerk Typist 2; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Sound knowledge of the methods, practices, and procedures used in operating within the Parks, Recreation and Culture Department to produce moderately complex reports, tables, and documentation. The operation of the computer systems (e.g., Better Impact), equipment related to work and office computer applications. Ability to compose non-routine letters and memos, moderately complex statements, reports, lists and documents; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external clients as well as the ability to deal with the public effectively in explaining departmental regulations and procedures while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism within a strong team environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management and organizational skills. Also, experience utilizing SAP will be an asset.Please apply online by October 15, 2024.
