Continuing School Psychologist<p>A 1.0 F.T.E. Continuing School Psychologist is required effective September 1, 2023.<p>The successful applicant will:<p><p> Be registered (or be eligible for registration) with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia with special training in School Psychology;<p> <p> OR<p> <p> Have a Master?s Degree in School/Educational Psychology or a related field with a focus on School Psychology and qualifications that meet the standard for membership in the British Columbia Association of School Psychologists.<p><p>Other desired abilities qualifications and experience:<p><p> Professional Teaching Certificate (BCCT) - preferred but not required;<p> Qualified to administer and interpret up to and including Level C Educational, Psychological and Behavioural Tests;<p> Training in Psychometric Theory and Principles;<p> Current knowledge of Ministry of Education Special Education Policies and Procedures;<p> Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;<p> Experience and/or In-service/Professional Development working with Indigenous Students, families and communities.<p><p>Demonstrated ability in the following:<p><p> Consulting with teachers, parents, students and community agencies regarding the nature of student strengths and needs, educational implications and ways to enhance learning and interpersonal relations;<p> Assisting school counsellors and/or district behavior facilitators in collecting behavioural information and performing initial behavioural screenings; assist in the development and monitoring of positive behaviour plans; consult with school personnel in areas related to behaviour disorders;<p> Working with School Based teams, multi-disciplinary teams and Community Care Teams;<p> Assisting in the development of IEPS for referred students;<p> Designing and presenting in-service in the area of special education and, specifically in the area of assessment.<p><p>Further information may be obtained by contacting the Assistant Superintendent, Renge Bailie, at (604) 869-2411, renge.bailie@sd78.bc.ca.<p> <p>Email your application package to <p>hr@sd78.bc.ca<p>Posting will be open until filled
