Community Apothecary is seeking a part-time pharmacist to join our caring, passionate, and fun team. The role will primarily involve dispensing activities in the pharmacy (located in Burnaby, BC) with outreach work in Assisted Living Facilities and Primary Practice Clinics in the Downtown Eastside (DTES) of Vancouver, BC.
*Qualifications:*
* Active Full Pharmacist license and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
* Ability to work independently
* Good time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
* Strong interpersonal skills with a caring, empathetic approach
* Experience with Kroll (Telus Health), Microsoft Office, PacMed, PacVision
* Ability to dispense OAT and keen on working with the mental health & addictions population
* Excellent communication skills
*Job Responsibilities:*
* Check prescriptions for proper dosage
* Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers or other health care professionals and advise them on indications, contra-indications, adverse effects, drug interactions, and dosage
* Deliver prescriptions to various housing and program facilities
* Perform Outreach to supportive housing facilities
* Work side by side with Physicians and Nurses in a primary practice clinic
* Maintain medication profiles of customers including registry of narcotic and controlled drugs
* Ensure proper preparation, packaging, distribution, and storage of pharmaceuticals
* Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies
* Provide advice on the selection and use of non-prescription medication
* May supervise and coordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians, and other staff.
