We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician Lead/ Foreman with a specialization and certification in security systems to join our dynamic team in British Columbia, Canada. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of hands-on experience in low voltage installations, with a focus on security systems such as CCTV, access control, and alarm systems as well as low voltage systems used in hospitals like Nurse call, patient wandering etc. This role will require the ability to manage a team, oversee project progress, and ensure installations are completed efficiently, safely, and according to high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead a team of low voltage technicians in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security systems & other low voltage system, including CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and related components.
· Plan, coordinate, and execute projects in compliance with safety standards, regulations, and client specifications.
· Perform site inspections and ensure all security systems installations meet company and client standards.
· Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure clear communication and timely project completion.
· Supervise the installation of wiring, equipment, and devices for low voltage systems, ensuring optimal functionality and system integration.
· Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the installation or functioning of security systems.
· Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians, ensuring team adherence to best practices.
· Keep accurate records of project progress, materials used, and work performed.
· Ensure compliance with provincial electrical codes and regulations, particularly for low voltage systems.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 10 years of experience as a low voltage technician, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
· Extensive experience with security systems, including CCTV, access control, intercom, and alarm systems and security tech license in BC.
· Knowledge of low voltage electrical codes and safety regulations in British Columbia.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
· Excellent troubleshooting skills and a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Proficient in using industry-standard tools, software, and testing equipment.
· Valid driver?s license and a clean driving record.
· Certification in low voltage systems (e.g., Security Technician Certification, IP Networking, Fiber Optic Certifications) is an asset.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
