<p> Join The Upper Canada District School Board <p> Creating Futures, Leading and Learning for All <p> We are currently accepting applications for 7 International Language Instructors . The Instructor provides instruction to small groups of adult learners with a specific program focus (i.e. ESL, LBS, LINC) in accordance with respective and established assessment standards. The instructor consults with the Manager or Team Leader to deliver program assignments and works collaboratively within a team environment to ensure that appropriate programming is delivered accordingly to applicable and designated Ministry and Board requirements.<p> 4 temporary International Language Instructor positions available for weekly Saturday program delivery: <p> 3 Arabic Instructors, 3 position at 4 hours from 8:30am - 12:00pm <p> 1 Urdu Instructor, 1 position at 4 hours from 8:30am - 12:00pm <p> Must be fluent in respective language (reading, writing, listening, speaking) <p> Location: TR Leger Cornwall Qualifications and Experience: <p> Possess a three year university degree or three year college diploma with a concentration in education, social work, sociology, psychology, linguistics or applied languages or in a related field. Familiarity with community support agencies pertaining to adult, family or employment-related issues is preferred.<p> Skills Required:<p> Demonstrated understanding of the basic precepts of adult education<p> Demonstrated understanding of the HRSDCs 9 Essential Skills<p> Knowledge and ability to use Canadian Language Benchmarks effectively (where applicable to program focus)<p> Knowledge and ability to use assessment tools for adult literacy learners, i.e. (Common Assessment of Basic Skills where applicable to program focus)<p> Demonstrated ability to make logical decisions<p> Strong interpersonal skills, ability to function as a role model and a self starter<p> Demonstrated patience and understanding, adaptability and flexibility<p> Strong communication skills (written and oral)<p> Attention to detail and accuracy<p> Ability to learn new software database systems<p> Well developed listening skills<p> Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a variety of responsibilities concurrently<p> Ability to prioritize tasks, set objectives, plan work in advance and meet deadlines<p> Strong analytical and problem-solving skills<p> Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills<p> Demonstrated ability to respect and maintain confidentiality of information<p> Proficient with word processing, database programs and e-mail e.g. Word Perfect/Word, Excel, Outlook e-mail, internet<p> Accuracy in tracking attendance and student file management<p> Demonstrated positive attitude towards adult learning and learners ability to improve <p> Application: <p> Your completed application on Apply to Education must include the following: Cover Letter<p> Resume<p> Updated Applicant Profile<p> Complete responses to job related questions You may also wish to attach relevant diplomas, certifications, reference letters, etc. relevant to your application. <p> References: <p> UCDSB requires your current and two most recent direct supervisors.<
