Elk Island Catholic Separate<p>School Division<p>Division Occupational Therapist - Probationary part time<p><p><p><p>We are accepting applications for a part time 0.5 FTE Division Occupational Therapist to be part of our responsive, collaborative and dynamic team at Elk Island Catholic School Division. <p><p><p><p>Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Inclusive Learning Services, the Division Occupational Therapist will work within a Collaborative Response Model and will be responsible for: <p><p><p><p> <p> Working collaboratively within the Inclusive Learning Team, Central Learning Services Team, and School Support teams to provide comprehensive support to students, staff, families, and external agencies.<p> <p><p><p> <p> The selection, development, and implementation of strategies and activities to develop fine and visual motor, self-help and sensory/regulation skills. <p> <p> <p> Conduct periodic re-assessment/evaluation of individual programs and recommendations as needed.<p> <p> <p> To provide on-going monitoring and documentation of student progress and the effectiveness of recommended strategies and interventions.<p> <p> <p> Participate in Collaborative Team meetings, Support Plan team meetings, case conferences, family meetings, and medical consultations.<p> <p> <p> Research and provide consultation regarding adaptive equipment and technical aids.<p> <p><p><p><p>Qualifications, Skills and Competencies<p><p> <p> A license to practice within the province of Alberta, to be a member in good standing with Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT). <p> <p> <p> Possess necessary skills in diagnosis and program intervention, and exhibit excellent interpersonal skills. <p> <p> <p> Able to work well independently and show initiative.<p> <p> <p> Self-motivated, and an enthusiastic learner with excellent problem solving skills.<p> <p> <p> Ability to work as a member of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. <p> <p> <p> Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.<p> <p> <p> Valid driver?s license (Travel required).<p> <p> <p> Pediatric experience is an asset.<p> <p> <p> Preference will be given to Catholic applicants.<p> <p><p><p><p><p>We thank all applicants for their interest but only those being considered to advance in the selection process will be contacted.
