Troubleshooting/diagnostic. Tasks: May work in a team with shared supervisory responsibilities. Secure special attachments to equipment. Review work order to determine job specifications. Perform preventive maintenance. Operate equipment from a control room or from control consoles located near the production units. Observe panel indicators and equipment to detect malfunctions. Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury. Monitor safety area. Monitor and inspect work. Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards. Ensure that safety standards and departmental policies are met. Assist in operation, repair and maintenance. Provide advice and training to users in response to identified difficulties. Clean and maintain work space. Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies. Operate communications equipment. Establish work priorities and ensure procedures are followed and deadlines are met. Assemble data and prepare periodic and special reports, manuals and correspondence. Ensure adherence to safety regulations. Test electrical, electronic and instrument components. Advise supervisor or central control operator and process and machine operators of problems and product deficiencies. Report accidents, distress signals, navigational hazards and other emergencies. Install and maintain meters and regulators and gas lines between gas unit and gas meter. Test system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment. Test installed unit and adjust controls for proper functioning. Supervision: Staff in various areas of responsibility.
