Occupational Therapist Contractor(s) The ADEA is a First Nation Education Authority serving the three Denesuline First Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan; Black Lake, Hatchet Lake, and Fond Du Lac. The Authority is working toward improved educational outcomes by utilizing the latest technology, progressively piloting programs, and integrating Denesuline culture into the classroom and school curriculum. <p>The ADEA is seeking a competent, confident, and motivated individual/s to fill the position of an Occupational Therapist as a contractor at Father Porte Memorial Dene School (FPMDS) in Black Lake and Father Gamache Memorial School (FGMS) in Fond Du Lac, Northern Saskatchewan. FPMDS is a Pre-K to Grade 12 facility with a student population of 400+ and professional and paraprofessional staff of 60+ members. FGMS is a Pre-K to Grade 12 facility with a student population of 350+ and professional and paraprofessional staff of 60+ members. Overview <p>The Occupational Therapist will help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally by providing programs that will help their fine motor, visual, motor integration, sensory processing, and other occupational performance skills. The occupational therapist will also consult with teachers, administrators, parents, and other service providers when designing a program to help each student and oversee the process of the program. Occupational Therapist will be working a 1 week shift per month. <p>Contract Summary: To complete assessments of pre-school and school aged children and interpret diagnostic treatment and education programming information to parents, students (where appropriate), teachers, and educational assistants.<p> To monitor educational and treatment intervention and provide ongoing support and consultation to paraprofessionals delivering these programs and services.<p> To actively participate in developing and delivering professional development in-services and workshops for school personnel, parents, students, and community professionals.<p> To provide direct intervention services for children as required and to coordinate ongoing treatment with other professionals.<p> Instructs the paraprofessional in the use of effective intervention strategies with the student(s)Qualifications: Registered Occupational Therapist in good standing with the CAOT SK Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists - Saskatchewan <p> An understanding of Denesuline language and culture would be considered an asset.<p> Willingness to travel 1 week at a time per month. <p>If you are interested in applying for the above contract, please submit your resume along with a cover letter, references and a most recent Criminal Police Record Check and a Child Vulnerable Records Check to:<p>Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority<p>Attention: Human Resources Department <p>153 South Industrial Drive<p>Prince Albert, SK S6V 0Z8<p>Phone: (306) 922-9830 ext. 857<p>Email: hrs@adeask.ca <p>Deadline: Until Position Filled <p>Only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted further.<p>
