*Position Overview:*
The Maintenance Manager at the Best Western Plus Kelowna Hotel is responsible for the overall upkeep of the hotel, ensuring that all systems (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC), equipment, and facilities are maintained to the highest standards. This role involves supervising the maintenance team, coordinating repairs, preventative maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Leadership & Supervision:*
* Oversee and manage the hotel?s maintenance team, including assigning tasks, scheduling shifts, and evaluating performance.
* Provide training and guidance to maintenance staff to ensure high-quality work and adherence to hotel policies and standards.
* *Preventative Maintenance:*
* Develop, implement, and manage a preventative maintenance program to ensure all hotel equipment and facilities are maintained in optimal working condition.
* Conduct regular inspections of all hotel systems and facilities, identifying areas for repair or improvement.
* *Repairs & Upkeep:*
* Coordinate and perform necessary repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
* Ensure all equipment, including elevators, boilers, lighting, and security systems, is functioning correctly and efficiently.
* *Vendor Management & Budgeting:*
* Collaborate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or installations when necessary.
* Maintain strong relationships with service providers and negotiate cost-effective solutions for required services.
* Assist in preparing and managing the maintenance budget, ensuring expenditures are within the allocated limits.
* *Safety & Compliance:*
* Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding building codes, fire safety, and workplace safety standards.
* Maintain records of all repairs, inspections, and certifications for safety and regulatory audits.
* *Inventory Management:*
* Manage the inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring stock levels are adequate for daily operations and emergency repairs.
* *Emergency Response:*
* Be on-call and respond quickly to any emergency maintenance issues that may arise, such as power outages, equipment breakdowns, or plumbing issues.
* *Collaboration:*
* Work closely with other hotel departments (e.g., housekeeping, front desk) to ensure that maintenance needs are addressed promptly, minimizing disruption to hotel operations.
* Participate in management meetings to provide updates on maintenance activities and challenges.
*Qualifications:*
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager, preferably in the hospitality industry.
* In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs on various equipment and systems.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and building codes.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Proficient in maintenance-related software (optional) or good record-keeping abilities without software.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
*Education & Experience:*
* High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical degree or certification in a related field preferred.
* 3-5 years of experience in building maintenance or a related role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
*Physical Requirements:*
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., outdoors, confined spaces).
* Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders for extended periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
