*Position Overview:* As the General Manager of Marble Mountain, you will be the strategic and operational leader of the four season resort. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the seamless execution of all resort operations through each season, while achieving financial success and maintaining the highest standards of guest satisfaction. You will work closely with department heads to oversee ski operations, lodging, food and beverage, retail, events, marketing, and more, while reporting to the Executive Chair of The Board of Directors. You will also play a pivotal role in shaping the long-term vision of the resort, driving innovation, sustainability, and growth.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Leadership & Team Management:*
* Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of department heads, managers, and staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and excellence.
* Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear objectives, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
* Ensure staffing levels are optimized to meet the demands of peak and off-peak seasons.
*Operational Oversight:*
* Oversee all aspects of ski operations, including lift maintenance, snowmaking, grooming, ski patrol, and ski school.
* Ensure the highest standards of safety, service, and efficiency in all guest-facing areas, including front desk, concierge, housekeeping, food and beverage, and retail.
* Monitor daily operations to ensure that all departments work in harmony, delivering a consistent and high-quality guest experience.
*Financial Management:*
* Collaborate with the Finance department to develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring that all departments operate within financial targets while maximizing revenue and controlling costs.
* Analyze financial reports, identify trends, and implement strategies to improve profitability.
* Work closely with the finance team to manage cash flow, capital expenditures, and financial forecasting.
*Guest Experience & Satisfaction:*
* Continuously evaluate guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance the overall guest experience.
* Lead initiatives to personalize the guest experience, from VIP services to special events, ensuring that every guest leaves with lasting memories.
* Address guest concerns and complaints promptly and effectively, maintaining a visible presence throughout the resort.
*Sales, Marketing & Business Development:*
* Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute strategies that attract new guests and retain loyal customers.
* Identify opportunities for growth for a four season resort, including new services, partnerships, and events that align with the resort?s brand and values.
* Represent the resort at industry events, trade shows, and community functions to build relationships and enhance the resort?s reputation.
*Sustainability & Community Engagement:*
* Champion sustainability initiatives, from energy efficiency to waste reduction, ensuring the resort operates with environmental stewardship in mind.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with local government, businesses, and community organizations, positioning the resort as a responsible and engaged corporate citizen.
* Support and participate in local events and causes that align with the resort?s values and mission.
*Qualifications:*
* Minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience within the hospitality, tourism, or ski resort industry, with a proven track record of success.
* Strong understanding of ski resort operations, including lift maintenance, snowmaking, guest services, and food and beverage.
* Demonstrated experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and profit and loss analysis.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a large team.
* Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation, sustainability, and guest satisfaction.
