Posting: 1.0 FTE temporary full-time EA 6 - Dance Instructor<p>Primary Location: Holy Trinity Catholic High School <p>Contract Term: August 2024 June 2025 <p>Duration: 10 Months <p>Closing Date: Open until Position is Filled The Fort McMurray Roman Catholic Separate School Division is seeking a temporary full-time high school EA 6 - Dance Instructor; under the direction of and in co-operation with a teacher, for the 2024-25 school year who have experience in instructing any or all levels of Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Pointe, Creative Movement, Hip-Hop, Acro and Jr. Ballet/Jazz.<p>We offer a competitive remuneration package including Alberta Blue Cross, Health Spending Account and Life & Disability Insurance at no cost to the employee, plus: Core Values that focus on Persons, Community, Responsibility and Learning<p> Vibrant, supportive, and diverse schools<p> Commitment to Indigenous learning and engagement with our local Treaty 8 community<p> Industry leading sports, STEM, and Fine Arts Programs<p> Fort McMurray Allowance of $1040 per month Qualifications Diploma or Bacehlor's Degree in related educational field is preferred <p> Accredited Dance Teaching Certification (R.A.D., S.R.B., C.D.T.A., I.S.T.D., etc) Program and/or Practical teaching experience<p> Ability to work with students in an educational setting<p> Strong relationship building skills<p> Flexible and adaptable<p> Organized and able to meet deadlines in accordance with the school schedule<p> Commitment to education and excited to work with students each day<p> Possess the ability to coach and mentor the dance assistants<p> Experience as a choreographer and/or competition judge are assetsResponsibilities identify students individual and collective learning needs<p> plan and deliver instruction based on student learning needs and special needs<p> provide a stimulating learning environment in which each student can experience growth and develop to his or her potential<p> help students learn appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes.<p> meet with parents<p> evaluate and communicate student progress<p> prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help<p> meet with other professionals to discuss individual student needs and progress<p> volunteer to supervise extracurricular and after-school activities<p> attend meetings, seminars, and in-service training sessions.<p> Select appropriate music for class and year end show<p> Promote a healthy lifestyle while keeping a positive classroom environment<p> Work with team members to plan events for students and the studio<p> Help the teacher supervise students on field trips, if required <p> Assist in the provision of general supervision inside and outside of schools as directed by School Administration<p> Attendance and completing reports<p> Provide other assistance to teachers as required <p>The successful candidate will be required to provide a Criminal Reference Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check.
