Job details
Central Interior Piping & Maintenance Ltd is an Industrial Mechanical Contractor operating in British Columbia since 2001. Our areas of piping expertise include but are not limited to pulp mills, refineries, chemical plants, gas pipelines, mining and commercial piping.
We are seeking an experienced Pipefitter to join our team. Must be able to work on your own as well in a team environment.
*Responsibilities*
- Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, maintain and repair piping systems and equipment.
- Performs Field Level Hazard Assessment (FLHA) as required prior to performing tasks
- Adheres to all prescribed safety procedures (hot work, line breaking, lock tag & try, confined space, etc.)
- Receives instructions, drawings, and work orders from superintendents
- Interprets drawings, determines working procedure
- Selects and procures materials, equipment and tools as required
- Fabricates, lay outs and assembles fittings, spools and supports
- Installs equipment, supports, pipes, tubes, controls and accessories
- Tests and maintains piping systems and completes associated documentation as required
- Erects and works from scaffolds and ladders as required
- Operates machine tools such as, but not limited to, drill press, pipe and rod threader, band saw, grinders
- Operates pendent controls crane, forklift, front-end loader, and other hoisting equipment to move and position equipment and materials
- Reports and submits data relevant to job duties and reports irregularities
- Prepares and applies protective coatings
*Skills*
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting schematics
- Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and calipers used in pipefitting
- Experience in fabricating pipes and working with various materials
- Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues with piping systems
*Education & Qualification*
- Grade 12 graduate with diploma or equivalent
- Red Seal Certification
- Valid class 5 driver?s license required
