*Job Summary*
The Production Manager will oversee production operations to meet requirements for safety, regulatory compliance, environment, quality, customer service and cost. As part of the Plant?s leadership team, the Production Manager contributes to building and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement of processes, efficiencies, and productivity.
*Duties*
* Supervises production team and serve as positive role model.
* Establish and maintain efficient operating and production practices.
* Maintains all aspects of our enhanced food safety program and ensure accuracy when recording daily records.
* Evaluate Team staff performance and make recommendations as required (i.e., recommendations for corrective action, training, etc.)
* Accountable for production team achieving standards of food safety, cleanliness, productivity, uniform, organization, food quality, and consistency.
* Participate in new machinery, system, and operation implementation events.
* Provide training and coaching on team members positions, systems, and use of equipment.
* Ensures high level of cleanliness, production efficiency, and machinery performance and reports all deficiencies to the Plant Manager.
* Ensures that all production is of the best quality and working continuously to improve the production indicators.
* Ensure the production and HACCP documentation are completed and communicated daily.
* Reports the employee?s attendance and improve the efficiency of the manpower.
* Work in a safe manner and ensure all production staff adhere to safety standards, policies, and procedures, and enforce through counselling, guidance, and corrective action.
* Meet production KPIs; increasing productivity, improving processes, minimizing waste, reducing downtime, etc.
* Able to work-afternoon, and week ends if it is required.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
*Skills*
* Minimum of 3-5 years of food industry experience
* Strong knowledge of quality and health and safety systems
* Knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
* Excellent communication and analytical skills
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
* "Can do" attitude with a willingness to learn.
*Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities:*
* Working in an environment with strong smell of raw poultry and meat
* Ability to in cold environment i.e., 0 °C to 4 °C.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
* Often wear protective or safety attire, such as gloves, safety shoes, gowns and hair net.
* Sometimes are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable, such as a noisy machine.
* Are exposed to hazardous situations on a weekly basis.
