Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Various locations. Delivery and courier service. Tasks: Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand. Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products. Professionalism in customer service. Accept payment or invoices for items delivered. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Assemble, install and set-up merchandise/products. Keep a record of items received and delivered. Prepare, package and restock goods. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Load and unload goods. Follow directions and read map. Use maps and other trip planning aids. Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems. Provide customer service. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Clean and maintain equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles). Transportation/travel experience: Local. Regional. Provincial/territorial. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Walking. Weight handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Cellular phone.
