Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Restaurant. Tasks: Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food. Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures. Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation . Hire food service staff. Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards. Prepare budget and cost estimates. Address customers' complaints or concerns. Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage. Prepare food order summaries for chef. Establish work schedules. Supervision: 3-4 people. Kitchen and food service helpers. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Safe Food Handling certificate. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Basic security clearance. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Standing for extended periods. Attention to detail. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills.
