Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Barbering/barber. Hair styling/stylist and hair design. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio. Spa. Tasks: Analyze hair and scalp condition. Book appointments. Cut and trim hair according to client's instructions or preferences. Provide custom hair and scalp treatment. Shampoo customers' hair. Shave and trim beards and mustaches. Provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and also provide scalp conditioning massages. Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair. Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features and preferences. Perform receptionist duties. Maintain and order supplies. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Barbering Trade Certification. Hairstylist Trade Certification. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Personal suitability: Client focus. Dependability. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication.
