The Kids Clinic is a multidisciplinary practice focusing on improving the quality of life in children, youth and adults with behavioural, developmental and psychiatric disorders, by providing the best solutions for each individual. We believe "Healing begins with understanding".
We are seeking a *Nurse Practitioner (NP) *with a special interest in behaviour, development and mental health to join our team with the opportunity to work and develop their skills within a multi-disciplinary environment. The NP will function as a member of the team in the development, implementation and evaluation of patient care. The qualified candidate will work directly under the paediatrician in assessing, and treating patients with a variety of concerns. Compensation based on experience.
*Job Responsibilities:*
* Triage patients; take vitals, history and other relevant details necessary to determine patient status.
* Maintain documentation in patient?s electronic records accurately and concisely.
* Prepare appropriate requisitions needed including but not limited to laboratory tests, x-rays, ultrasounds, etc.
* Follow and remain knowledgeable on pediatric practice guidelines.
* Prepare medical certificates and other documentation. (ie. ODSP forms, tax disability credits, school identification forms)
* Write doctor?s notes or consult reports as required.
* Monitor ongoing therapy of patients with chronic stable illness by providing effective pharmacological, complementary or counselling interventions
* Recommends and arranges for specialist referrals and appointments in consultation with physician.
* Collaborates with other multidisciplinary team members and external partners.
* Develop and conduct a health promotion programs, and patient education in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members.
* Communicate ideas and concerns to the team and participate in overall improvement of operation and delivery of care.
*Qualifications*
* Registered Nurse Practitioner in good standing with the College Nurses of Ontario
* Experience in mental health, and developmental paediatrics
* Ability to work in fast paced environment
* Experience making independent clinical decisions
* Proven leadership abilities with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
* Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
* Excellent teamwork and team building skills
* Experience using electronic medical records systems
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60.00-$65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
