Tasks

Enforce government acts and regulations

Ensure health and safety regulations are followed

Explain required standards to agricultural workers

Inspect agricultural products

Inspect carcasses to ensure they are fit for human consumption

Inspect processing methods

Inspect products to detect harmful diseases, chemical residues, or infestations

Interpret and explain government acts and regulations

Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports

Monitor the operations and sanitary conditions of slaughtering and meat processing plants

Oversee the quarantine, treatment or destruction of plants and plant products
