Job Description Laundry Worker II, Permanent Part-Time, Laundry, Lakeside Homes, GanderDefinition of work: The Laundry Worker II is responsible for the flow of resident clothing through the entire laundry process; sort, wash, dry and fold. Also, the successful candidate is responsible for transporting clean laundry to residents' rooms. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centred care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements. Physical Demands:* By applying for this job, you acknowledge an understanding that regular requirements and demands of this job include (but are not limited to):* Regularly and moves/lifts 25-50lbs. Occasionally lifts/moves 50+lbs. Pushing/Pulling with Light to Medium forces (11-44lbsF)* Constantly stands/ walks. Walking up to 500m may be required multiple times daily.* Work regularly involves reaching/stretching, bending/twisting and bouts of low level postures (kneeling/crouching/stooping).* Potential for exposure to blood, bodily fluids and/or other contagion. * Work Environments present potential for exposure to scented/chemical products and/or other allergens within publicly accessible areas. Working alone may occur at times.* Certain work environments present exposure to loud noises; personal protective equipment is required for specific areas.Required qualifications: * Graduation from high school with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. * Demonstrated experience in laundry methods, procedures and equipment.* Consistent demonstration of Central Health's corporate values; Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence (ICARE)* A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance are required.* A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.Hours of work: 15 hours bi-weekly (Shift work may be required)Salary: CG-18 ($20.50-$21.60)Competition number: P-2024001181-LKHCompetition closing date: August 30, 2024Central Health is an equal opportunity employer.We thank all candidates however only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
