Speech & Language Pathologist Contractor(s) The ADEA is a First Nation Education Authority serving the three Denesuline First Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan; Black Lake, Hatchet Lake, and Fond Du Lac. The Authority is working toward improved educational outcomes by utilizing the latest technology, progressively piloting programs, and integrating Denesuline culture into the classroom and school curriculum. <p>The ADEA is seeking a competent, confident, motivated induvial to fill the position of a contractor, as a Speech and Language Pathologist at Father Porte Memorial Dene School (FPMDS), located in Black Lake, and Father Megret Elementary School (FMES) and Father Megret High School (FMHS), both schools located in Hatchet Lake. FPMDS is a Pre-K to Grade 12 facility with a student population of 400+, and FMES and FMHS are a Pre-K to Grade 12 facility with a student population of 200 to 350 students, and all schools have professional and paraprofessional staff. OPPORTUNITY: <p>The Speech & Language Pathologist will provide diagnostic and programming services for students with communication challenges. The speech & language pathologist will also consult with teachers, administrators, parents, and other service providers when designing a program to help each student and oversee the process of the program. We are looking for 1-2 contractors to provide services: 1 week a month in Black Lake <p> 1 week a month in Wollaston Lake. CONTRACT SUMMARY: To complete communication skills assessments of pre-school and school aged children and interpret diagnostic treatment and education programming information to parents, students (where appropriate), teachers, and educational assistants. <p> To monitor educational and treatment intervention and provide ongoing support and consultation to paraprofessionals delivering these programs and services. <p> To actively participate in developing and delivering professional development in-services and workshops for school personnel, parents, students, and community professionals. <p> To provide direct intervention services for children as required and to coordinate ongoing treatment with other professionals. <p> Instructs the paraprofessional in the use of effective intervention strategies with the student(s) QUALIFICATIONS: Registered Speech & Language Pathologist in good standing with the Saskatchewan Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
