Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Motor vehicles. Work setting: Courier company. Various locations. Tasks: Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Load and unload goods. Use maps and other trip planning aids. Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems. Provide customer service. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks). Class 2/2F/C Licence (buses with more than passengers). Class 4/4F/F/4A-B-C Licence (ambulances, emergency vehicles and buses with fewer than 24 passengers). Transportation/travel experience: Regional. Provincial/territorial. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Tight deadlines. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Cellular phone. Gloves. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Flexibility. Judgement. Organized. Reliability. Accurate. Dependability.
