Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Motor vehicles. Cold/refrigerated. Wet/damp. Work setting: Courier company. Tasks: Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand. Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products. Professionalism in customer service. Accept payment or invoices for items delivered. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Keep a record of items received and delivered. Load and unload goods. Sort packages for delivery. Follow directions and read map. Use maps and other trip planning aids. Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems. Pay and receive payments for goods. Provide customer service. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles). Transportation/travel experience: Local. Regional. Provincial/territorial. National. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Work under pressure.
