Job details
Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Design dental devices. Fabricate and repair crowns, bridges or implants. Modify dental devices including full or partial dentures, orthodontic appliances, inlays, onlays, clasps and bands. Prepare plaster models and moulds. Cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases. Mould wax over dentures set-up. Finish metal framework of dentures. Pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures. Make orthodontic bands from metal and alloys. Polish and buff dentures. Computer-aided design (CAD). Technical expertise (dental): Waxing-up. Polishing. Area of specialization: Partial dentures. Crowns and bridges. Ceramic or porcelain application. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Repetitive tasks. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Hand-eye co-ordination. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Flexibility. Judgement. Team player.
